The first part of Spencer Gordon's most recent collection of oil paintings "Claviers ｜Provence in Paint" will be on display at the SPACE Gallery in Building 30 (Magnusen Park) this summer from May 3rd through June 2nd. Opening Reception is Saturday, May 5th, starting at 2pm. It features 10 small works and is a further expansion on his 2016 collection. The second portion will be on display in the Community Education Gallery at Bellevue Arts Museum later in June.
The work of fellow artist Veronique Bajzik (@veroniquebajzik) will also be on display at both exhibits.
There will also be a Closing Reception during Building 30's Open House on June 2nd at 12pm.
The collection centers around the area of Provence surrounding the small village of Claviers in southern France. It highlights the little, handcrafted details that adorn virtually everything. From wrought iron gate sculpture and carved stone statues to hammered brass fixtures and hand painted signs; it's these personal touches & the people who make them that stitch together the tapestry that is Provence.
